Accession Records has been around now for a little over 5 years.  Mainly releasing European artists' music, they've also signed such bands as Information Society to release their Don't Be Afraid album.

The label was founded by Diary of Dreams front man, Adrian Hates.  It was originally founded to release their music but later othere artists were signed and music released.  The range of music released includes the great ethereal/ambient works of Angels of Venice to the gothic/ethereal sounds of Claire Voyant and including releases from hard-hitting Haujobb and Assemblage 23.  With a successful history behind this label, I'm sure we can expect a lot more of the same in the future.

Accession Records Volume One - Review

To celebrate their five-year anniversary, this label has released an excellent compilation from most of their signed artists.  This first-ever compilation by this label includes 17 exclusive or remixed tracks from most of their catalog of artists.  It even includes some of their latest signings and special guest appearances by others.

The disc starts out with the beautiful "Luna Mystica" by Angels of Venice.  This peaceful tune presents the listener with an extra sample of what you might find if you were to purchase just about any album from this excellent group.  This is closely followed by the wonderful, smooth sound of Diary of Dreams with their rendition of "Bladerunner 2001 (Director's cut remix by Adrian Hates)".

For Darkwave and EBM fans, this disc will be a real treat for you featuring many of the greats from these genres.  More of the highlights for me include Assemblage 23 with their "Anthem", Diorama with "Advance" and the excellent remix of Claire Voyant's "Blinking Tears (Cleaner Remix Version)".  You'll be treated by the Assemblage 23 remix of "Progression" by The Azoic.  Probably my favorite highlight on this album is the hard-to-find "Forestown" by Diary of Dreams.

Over all an excellent compilation for fans of the artists on this label.  I highly recommend you pick this up and then choose your favorite artist and pick up some of their work.  Here is the complete track listing:
